The Sun Valley area is home to some of the nation’s most fantastic and varied Nordic ski trails and amenities anywhere in the United States.  The Blaine County Recreation District (BCRD) offers more than 160km of groomed Nordic trails throughout the valley with the historic Galena Lodge as its centerpiece in the beautiful Sawtooth National Recreation Area.  This total system includes three key recreational areas:

The North Valley Trails & Galena Lodge
The entire system begins with the BCRD North Valley Trails and amenities north of Ketchum/Sun Valley.  First on this list, visitors can experience Galena Lodge, a rustic day lodge dating back to the 1880’s and nestled in the Boulder Mountains just below Galena summit.  Avid Nordic skiers and families alike (kids 12 & under ski free) will love the friendly atmosphere, great food, snowshoe and sledding opportunities, yurt lodging, and ski rentals as well.  Enjoy the trails around Galena Lodge or, just to the south, take a glide on the magical Harriman Trail while enjoying breathtaking views of the Boulder Mountains.  Then escape into the many adjoining wilderness trails.
The Lake Creek trails close to Ketchum are the last stop and also the home to the world class Nordic programming for children by the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation.  Home of the world famous Boulder Mountain Ski Race, the entire North Valley Trailsl system boasts more than 115km of trails managed by the BCRD in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service. The North Valley Trails are available upon purchase of an affordable season pass or day pass.

The Wood River Trail
This trail is a 30km paved multi use pedestrian route that runs all the way up the spine of the Wood River Valley from Bellevue to north of Ketchum.  During the winter, the BCRD grooms the length of this trail for Nordic skiing, snowshoeing and walking as a great recreational amenity for everyone living in and visiting the Wood River Valley.  No pass is required to access the Wood River Trail.

Quigley Nordic & Quigley Winter Park
The entire system concludes at Quigley Canyon just 12 miles south of Sun Valley, Ketchum and bordering Hailey, Idaho.  Visitors and families can enjoy 13 kilometers of beautiful trails and active winter fun for families groomed by the BCRD only minutes away from the center of Hailey.
Access to Quigley Nordic available upon purchase of an affordable season pass or day pass.
